When to use it
- Your team is slowed down by several problems at once.
- Your meetings go in circles without decisions.
- You want concrete actions, fast.
How to do it, step by step
- Problems: everyone silently writes down the problems they see.
- Vote for the most important problems and keep one.
- Reframe it as “How might we…?”.
- Solutions: everyone proposes ideas, silently.
- Vote for the best solutions.
- Decisions: turn the chosen solutions into actions, with an owner and a due date.
Example
A project team complains about endless meetings. Problem kept: “nobody knows what was decided”. Reframe: “How might we keep a clear record of decisions?”. Decision: a three-line recap, written in turn and shared the same day.
